Presley Lollipop

Good morning! Its another gorgeous day here in NC and I am excited that we are heading to our favorite vacation spot tomorrow...Disney world! My whole family just loves Disney...we are all big kids at heart :)

I have a few things up my sleeve for you while I am gone, but in the meantime I have a cute Lollipop card for you today! This is Presley Lollipop from Stamping Bella. The lollipops are drawn by the fabulously talented Lori Boyd of By Lori Designs, and I am so happy that we are now carrying a large selection of these cuties at Enchanted Cottage!

I created this card for this weeks color challenge at The Pink Elephant (so of course I had to use a stamp Lori designed :) )...to use pastel colors. Well, pastels normally aren't really my thing but I just love this new Kioshi paper from Basic Grey!

The colors are pastel and springy yet still a bit of punch for those like me who need some substance to the color palette! I actually used last weeks sketch for my layout from The Pink Elephant that I never got around to using for last weeks challenge.

My buttons and brads are also from Basic Grey, but from a variety of collections. I have a huge mixed jar of each from Basic Grey. The ribbon is Bo Bunny I believe, I grabbed it from my stash. The sentiment is also by Stamping Bella.

OK, I am off to get ready to do my last minute "stuff" before we head out tomorrow. Have a great day and I will check in later this week with a couple of more posts! Thanks for dropping by!

Who are You?

Another quick post for you tonight! I am too late to make the challenge I think (CST??) but I wanted to post the card anyway cause I think it turned out so darned cute!

The challenge for this week over at the Alice in Wonderland blog was to use butterflies or caterpillars in celebration of spring. Since Jen, of Wild Flower Kids sponsored the challenge I thought I would use her FREE download available over at PCP.

This is Alice with mushrooms. I have been dying to color her for the last couple of weeks and was feeling really inspired today looking at new Bo Bunny "Sophie" papers! The colors are just so fun and fab and bright!

I also made it into a 3-D card for the Cute Card Thursday challenge...I created a tent card. The supplies for everything are listed below. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great weekend :)

Hip, Hop, Happy Easter

Yo! Whas'up?!! I have been absent again, I know. I really have intentions of blogging every day, but if I don't have a deadline for something to get posted I tend to get busy and forget I haven't posted anything in days. Its not like I don't have things to show you between DT stuff and samples for work and classes I teach, but I just get forgetful I guess. Hehe.

OK, so for the eye candy today I have a Changito card for you that was one of the cards for my whimsical Easter card class at Enchanted Cottage. (This will be happening again this Saturday if any of you local gals want to come!)

He comes from the most stinkin' adorable Stampendous! Perfectly Clear set called "Changito Hop". AND he's only one of 3 Changito images in the set (and there are actually 5 mischievous monkeys in the set!) It also has cute little stamps to coordinate and fun sentiment combos too!

Here's the side view of the card. I made it into a "tent card". The base of the card is Bo Bunny double Dot cardstock, and all the pattern papers are from 3 Bugs in a Rug Little Chick collection. The "hip" and "hop" are both individual stamps by Northwoods.

And lastly, here is the inside of the card. I used another Stampendous! sentiment stamp for the inside. All the other supplies I used are listed below. Thanks to you all for hip hopping over to see me today! Please take a sec to say hi, especially my local friends who tend to lurk...I never know when you visit!

Stampendous! Painting with Powder Technique

Good Morning! Its a beautiful Friday here in NC. I have to work all day and then have classes tomorrow, but I hope its still pretty on Sunday! As you can see, I never finished this post on Wednesday! So today you get to see stuff for my classes tomorrow at Enchanted Cottage.

All of these cards are made with Stampendous! stamps, embossing powders, and glitters and use the newest techniques that Fran demonstrated at CHA in January. Check out the Stampendous! blog for videos, tutorials, and links to the Papercraft Planet feature!

The top card is made with Ranuculus Fields, an absolutely gorgeous image! I used the new Merlot Embossing Powders kit to do the "Painting with Powder" technique.

Next up is a card using the Glitter and Flock technique and the "Moroccan Sun" Fringe Benefits Kit. The cute flowers are from another new set called "Loopy Blooms". It also uses funky holographic Class-A-Peel stickers from Stampendous! This card is a take-off on a cute pail we made as a Make-n-Take at the Stampendous! booth at CHA.

Here is a card using the first technique again with the "Coastal Express" Embossing Powder Kit. The gorgeous peacock is from the "Proud Peacock" set.

Last up of my "original" cards is this Impressionistic number made with "Lavender Fields" scenery stamp and again the "Merlot" kit. (This is inspired from a Fran Seiford card)

This card was another Make-n-Take from CHA using the new "Rich & Rugged" Embossing Powders kit and "Dreamy Leaves" cling and "Wildflower Sprigs" clear stamp set.

Finally, another Make-n-Take sample from CHA using "Coastal Express" kit and "Birdcage Trio" cling stamp. I was fortunate enough to not only get to be invited to CHA to work at the Stampendous! booth but also to be able to see their headquarters in ANaheim and we got to make all the Make-n-Take projects ahead of time. Thanks again girls! It was a blast!

So, if you are local, this class will not only be tomorrow but will repeat again in late April. Participants will make 3 of the above cards and also go home with a new Embossing Powder kit! Check out the Enchanted Cottage home page for our calendar, directions, and more samples!

I will also be repeating the Glitter and Acetate class from last year next saturday using stamps from Stampendous! and The Artful Stamper. Don't miss out on this glittery fun!

Thanks for stopping in today! Have a great weekend :)

Painting the Roses Red...

Good morning! I have my card for you today for the Alice in Wonderland Challenge blog. The theme this week was a color challenge...Red, Blue, and Purple! Ok, that was just screaming for me to print out this fabulously creepy image from The Greeting Farm called "Twisted Tea", one of the three new "Creepy Cakes" digi images they released this month.

Twisted Tea was colored with no other than my Copic markers, then I used the sketch from Club Anya & Friends Blog (which I know I can't submit for the challenge, but hey it worked!) for my layout. I added lots of sparkle to her hair and other accessories with my Spica glitter pens. I had to rummage through my old paper stash to find pp's that would work and I came up with this black and white print from Amanda Blu and the red print from an old SU! print pack.

The circle Nestabilites is layered onto a Blossom Nestabilies, then I added a bit of bling around the edges. I layered some Primas then attached them together with these fun Mini Jewel Brads from American Crafts. The black cardstock still looked a bit plain so I ran that layer through my Cuttlebug with the Spiderweb folder. How perfect is that?

The doodling around the circle is by hand to match the kinks in her hair. The sentiment I printed out from a digi file called "Alice in Sassyland Sentiments" that I downloaded from Sassy Studio Designs.

Alrighty, I am finishing up my Latte and then headed home to finish working on class samples for work! Have a great day! Thanks for hanging out with me :)

Hula Days Previews: Day 2

Good morning! Thanks for surfing back over to my little island. Today is our second day of Previews at InStyle Stamps, and we have my favorite image for you today who is Leila. I actually combined her with yesterdays preview image, Island Sun (the tree).

This card is also for 2 challenges this week. I used the sketch from The Diedrich Dare for my layout and used a wee bit o Green from the Copic Creations Challenge.

Leila and the tree were both cut out after I colored them. The tree is adhered straight to the panel and Leila is popped up. I have a side view below so that you can see the dimensionality of the card. For this card I got to pull out my brand spankin new Jumbo Rectangle Nesties from Spellbinders...Hot dang! Love them!!

I dotted around the edges a bit and then layered the panel onto more of the same fun paper that I had used for the rectangles...its by My Minds Eye, from a collection last summer called Breakin' Free. I thought the colors were just perfect!

Texturizing Jeans Tutorial

I have a cool tutorial for you today! This is a technique that I show in my Copic 102 class at Enchanted Cottage. I thought it would be fun to show you all here. Below are the supplies you will need. (Note: i also use the Copic ABS1 airbrush system to do the background later, but that is optional for you)

For this technique I love using this adorable Changito image from Stampendous! He's hugging his daddy's legs...which are of course just right to make into jeans. After he is stamped, go ahead and color him with the copics of your choosing. The colors I used are shwon and listed at the bottom of the post.

After your image has been colored fully then you are ready to texturize! You can make all kinds of amazing textures with Copic colorless Blending Solution. For jeans I cut a small piece off the cuff of some old jeans. I put a small amount of Colorless Blender solution in a Mini Mister from Ranger. Spray the jean scrap pretty thoroughly.

Then apply the jean scrap to the image, trying to keep it just over the jean portion of the image, so you don't make Changito look like jeans too! Press down pretty firmly. You can move the scrap and repeat as needed.

Here is a close up so you can see how well the texturizing works! Pretty cool, huh? A special thnaks to Sally Lynn MacDonald for suggesting creating Jeans texture. She did my Copic certification last year.

Next I masked off the Changito image as well as all around the outside of the block so that I can spray the area with my Airbrush system.

Here is what the image looks like masked off as well as what it looks like before I trim the panel and finish off my card.

ANd finally for my finished card. I used papers from My Minds Eye Abbey Road Collection. The sentiment is also from Stampendous! All supplies are listed below and all the copics I used are also pictured at the bottom of the post.

Well, thanks for stopping in today! Be sure to check back in tomorrow for my first peek from Hula Week at InSTyle Stamps!

ALOHA!!! This will be a long post, so thanks for not falling asleep or clicking away!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a wonderful Thursday.

I'm so excited to announce something going on here next week! It's all Leila inspired.

I love Hawaii. I have a few friends that are from there and we have a lot of Hawaiian customer love too. This summer we are planning a trip there (hopefully it pans out) and so I thought what a wonderful way to showcase how beautiful the Islands are by creating a few new Hawaiian inspired images. In fact we came up with 4 to be exact.

So all next week, we will have a Happy Hula Day's week. Each day will feature a tid-bit of the islands as well as a few favorite design team projects featuring our old and NEW digital stamps we are releasing.

You will be seeing Ariel our mermaid, Leila our dancing beauty and 4 new ones that will make your summer projects come alive.

Also during the week, we will have a special hula skirt for sale created by none other than
Janelle, who is one of our dt members (she also created the button for the event.) And get this, it will only be $1.00. So yeah you will even be getting some bargains!

And just to jump start the festivities, if you grab the button and post it on your blog from now until the end of next week, we will be giving a free Leila digi away! Yay! I love Leila, she is too cute!

Simply follow us (if you are not already) and grab our button and post it on your blog/website for the entire week starting the day you visit us. Then leave us a comment along with your email address (leave some spaces so you won't get spam) and I will be sending lovely Leila straight to you.

Also, if that isn't enough, if you leave a comment each day, we will be choosing 6 lucky winners to receive all the digitals being released on Saturday!

And lastly we will have our favorite Island photo drawing. We want to see what makes the island special for you. All you have to do is post your favorite island photo on your blog/website and post a link to it. Make sure you tell us why you like that photo so much in your post too.

All those that participate will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes including some new spellbinder dies! Woo hoo! That's all I can say for now. But you won't want to miss it. I will be back on Monday with a photo of the giftbasket of goodies. The total value of the prize will be over $150.00. That's a lot of money honey!

Here are the drawing rules:

*The photo must belong to you. Either you or someone in your immediate family must have taken the photo. Please don't snag photos off the internet to enter.

Oh Alice! I'm Mad about you!

OK, so its down to 2 days and counting til we get to go see this movie! I simply can't wait! Can't be late! Have you stumbled upon the new Alice in Wonderland Challenge blog yet? How exciting that there are other fanatics out there :0 And all the lovely companies are inspiring with all the new releases of Alice & friends images!

This weeks challenge is "Running in a sketchy Circle"...and you can see the sketch HERE. I ordered up a few digis just for the occasion and the first one I couldn't wait to color was this jolly mad hatter called "A touch of Depp" from Pixie Dust Studio. Mwaahh! Love him, and what better name could he have I ask?

I colored hi with my copics to match this fun and quirky Sassafras Lass paper called Monstrosity. It just seemed to work! I added a touch of ribbon and buttons and of course a Ribbon Tag Trio sentiment. The sentiment is from a digi set called "Sassyland Sentiments" from Sassy Studio Designs. Warning! I got a couple of digi Sassy Alices while there I will use soon!

OK, I am outta here! Gotta long day at work tomorrow (Thursday) so you'll make my day if you say hi! I can read comments on my Blackberry while trudging through the day! Thanks for stopping in!

Girls can do ANYTHING!

Meet Lavinia. She is such a hoot! I have wanted to get this image along with a bunch of other Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps ever since Kim Reid started her new line! and guess what?? While I went blog hopping through the KK DT's blogs during the last release a couple of weeks back, I won some Kraftin' Kimmie images! Can you say Hot Dang!!

So, of course I had a reeeally hard time choosing and had to get a couple more. I know, twist my arm.. But shipping was free, right?! So, I picked up a couple of the newest Pirate stamps and this adorable Steam Punk chickie I had been eyeballing. Now I want more from this line to go with the Gears die that I have preordered at work by Tim Holtz!

OK, so I made this card for this weeks challenge...Buttons and Bows. No problem there. do I ever make a card without either? Rarely. I used this weeks Friday sketchers sketch for my layout. The papers are from a K & Co pad called Wild Raspberry that I got at Michael's a whole back. They were perfect for the color combo over at the Deidrich dare last week (I was a week off there, oopps!) But I was in the mood for pinks and green, so it worked!

Once again I got to use my new Labels 10 Nestabilities and also my new Big Scallops Borders petite which I of course had to airbrush through immediately! Lavinia is popped up on dimensionals which you can see a bit better from the side view below.

The sentiment is from Steampunk Sentiments. also from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. It is the most adorable and fun collection of sayings! There are 21 for only $9! A steal. All the rest of my supplies are listed at the bottom of the post. Copics are pictured below.

OK, so I did get some stamping done today! Yeah!! That means I have stuff to post for you for a couple of days! Thanks for dropping by! Have a great night!

Hey guys! I am back with more from InStyle Stamps today for the Club Anime sketch challenge this month! You can see the sketch HERE at the Club Anime Blog. There is a fantastic prize this month you don't want to miss out on so what are you waiting for??

I used Wanda for my card. I have wanted to do something with her for a long time and I was just in the mood for something bright and retro! Why? Well, its snowing...again. Hurmph. Oh, well, my kids got out eraly and all are occupied eith friends and whatnot so I hope to stamp the afternoon away!

So, back to Wanda. I colored my first Ethnic skin tone that I didn't toss in the trash because it looked like a mess! I think her skin turned out a really pretty shade! I used Copics E27, E25, E13, and E11. I also got to pull out my brand spankin new Labels 10 Nestabilities!

I cut her out centering the die over Wanda. Then I wanted to mask her so that I could airbrush my background. Well, I had already closed out the settings on my computer from having printed her, so how do you do a mask for a digi without stressing the size? I photcopied her in black & white then cut that out as my mask, and volia!

Hehe, I am so proud of myself. I also added some clear glaze pen to her gogo boots and leatherette belt so they would be shiny! This card is also entered for:

Papertake Weekly Challenge: Buttons, Bows, (Brads & Bling)
The Pink Elephant Challenge: Add some Green to your layout

So, all the supplies are listed at the bottom of the post. Please check in at the Club Anime blog to come play with us and to see the samples from all of the DT. Each of our names above our projects is a link to our blog posts so that you can get all the details about the cards and projects!

As always, thanks for hanging out with me a bit today! have a great snowy Tuesday!
