Date Night

This is seriously what my hubby and I need right now, a date night! I hardly see him all of December except when I help out at the restaurant. When he was home, for all of about 2 half-days he slept. So, I thought I would slip him this card tonight at New Years.

I used the images "Date Night" from InStyle Stamps...it is totally perfect! Since it is a retro image I thought it would be fun to create a pink car..I paper pieced the outside (don't ask) and then colored the rest with my copics.

The car image was cut out with Labels 10 from Spellbinders. The Dinner & a Movie ticket stub is by Bo Bunny from one of their latest lines, "Crazy Love".

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Date Night digi (InStyle Stamps)
  • Paper: Crazy Love pp (Bo Bunny); Mocha Divine (Bazzill); White (Neenah)
  • Accessories: Labels 10 Nestabilties (Spellbinders); Pearl brads (American Crafts); Quickie Glue pen; ribbon (SU!); Red Spica glitter pen and copic markers R83, R37, E00, E000, E11, E53, E41, E27, C1, C5, W0 (Imagination International)
Here's to the end of 2010, and best wishes for 2011. Thanks to all my friends, followers, stalkers, and passer bys! I love and appreciate you all!!

New Years at the Cullens'

What do you say for New Years at the Cullen House? Happy New Years, AGAIN!! I am actually singing in my head, "Just another Twilight New Year" to the tune of "Just another Manic Monday"....OK, so my sense of humor is off today.

BUT, Its time for this weeks Pixie Dust Challenge... to use Silver and/or gold on your card and a bonus to make it a New Years card! I chose Emmett and Rosalie from the Pixie Dust Studio Eclipse collection for my card.

The layout for the card is based on last weeks Cute Card Thursday sketch...a bit late for the challenge, but I liked the sketch! I used new papers from Bo Bunny, and some White Bazzill Bling Stones.

For the silver, I embossed around most of the edges of my papers with Sterling Silver embossing Powder from Stampendous! and a Versamark pad.

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Rosalie Cullen & Emmett Cullen digi (Pixie Dust Studio); computer generated sentiment
  • Paper: Bo Bunny pp; Basic Gray (SU!); white (Neenah)
  • Ink: Versamark pad
  • Accessories: Curvy Cutter (EK); Sterling SIlver EP (Stampendous); White gel pen (Signo); Metallic silver pen (American Crafts); Silver & Lavender spica pens & Copic markers Y11, Y15, E0000, E25, E27, C1, C3, C5, BV04, BV08, RV00, G28, B41, B45, YR24 (Imagination International); Versamarker; clear button (Bo Bunny); ribbon (stash); silver cord (SU!); White Bling Stones (Bazzill)

So, why don't you go join us this week? You don't have to use a Pixie Dust Studio image to play along, but we love it when you do! Either way you can win a FREE digi!

i heart Chloe

Post holiday greetings! We had a lovely White Christmas, a lazy morning with the kids, then friends over in the afternoon. Everything was looking great til the power went out, LOL. Only lasted about 24 hours, but wow...that can really throw you for a loop!

But today I am going to share a fun little project with you. This is Heart Chloe...isn't she just the sweetest? She is a new digi stamp available later this week from InStyle Stamps, just in time for adorable Valentine's projects.

I attached her to the bottom of a giant clothes pin that I had covered with paper and distressed with ink. When it is placed upside down on a table top you can use the clip top to hold a note or a photo. Here's a bit of a side view so you can get the idea a little better.

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Heart Chloe digi (InStyle Stamps)
  • Paper: Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey); Double dot cs (Bo Bunny); Neenah Solar White
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink (Ranger)
  • Accessories: Heart Nestabilties (Spellbinders); White gel Pen (Signo); clothes pin; sponge dauber

Thanks for popping in today! Have a lovely last few days of 2010!

We are right in the middle of the InStyle Stamps "A Day in the Life" 10 day hop. Today begins the 5 holiday days! I am up with my card using "Santa's Knee" from InStyle Stamps.

Stampendous Holiday Catalog Card samples

As the days draw nearer to Christmas, my stamping time has become scarcer and scarcer. So for today I am sharing a couple of cards that I created last spring for the Stampendous! Holiday Catalog that came out in July. Its hard to think that as designers we are working so far ahead sometimes! (I have in fact been working on tons of summer samples for the last month!!)

The first card is with adorable little Rooco the Raccoon. He is tossing some fun confetti in the air in celebration of winter. (Confetti was created with Red metallic Class-a-Peel stickers by Stampendous!)

The next card is one that was out of my comfort zone. The main image is a sentiment, "Snow Brackets" embossed with Chinese Red Embossing Powder (Stampendous!) and cut out with a Nestabilities. The background was embossed with the Ornaments Cuttlebug folder and then rubbed with Craf-T-Products metallic rub ons.
OK, thats it for tonight. Its been a long week and I have lots of catching up to do tomorrow :) Thanks so much for visiting with me!!

Thursday, December 16, 2010

Good morning! Only 9 days left!! Anyone out there not stressed? LOL. If so you must not have children or work in retail or a restaurant . Owning a restaurant puts us in a way behind state of mind every year no matter how prepared we feel. And I am hoping tomorrow is the last of the kids Christmas parties and concerts (3 tomorrow!!)

OK, on the creative note...its time for this weeks Pixie Dust Studio Challenge! This week we challenge you to create a Get Well Soon card. For my card I used "Pixie Ginger and Friends" from the Goodies collection by Pixie Dust Studio. She's paired with a Hero Arts sentiment.

Won't you play along with us this week? Head to the PDS challenge blog for all the details...you have until next Wed night! Good luck :)

A loving Inspiration Challenge

Its time for this months Inspiration Challenge from InStyle Stamps! Here is what I created with the image Dan and Mandy from InStyle Stamps. ALSO, be sure to head to the ISS blog every day for the next week and comment on all of the "A Day in the Life" posts. In lieu of a blog hop this month we all created projects using this series. They will all be showcased on the ISS blog all week and you can win by simply leaving comments every day!

This inspiration this month is from Martha Stewart, these cute gift items. You can play with us too! Head over to the ISS blog to get the details!

For my card, Dan and Mandy are colored to match some adorable new paper from Bo Bunny. The chipboard accent is by American Crafts. I stamped it with "Sweetie Pie" fro The Cat's Pajamas then added some dots with my AC precision pen. Ribbon is from Creative Impressions.

And on to the gift that matches the card. I colored Dan and Mandy the same, then cut the image out with my circle Nestabilites. Its tied to the bow (Stampin' Up! ribbon) with a piece of Divine Twine. Lollipop was in the $1 spot at Target :)

OK, thanks for coming by today! Sorry I've been a bit scarce, just so crazy busy with everything. Aren't we all right now?!!

Eclipse Reveal!

OK, all you Twilight fans out there, I am sure you know what tomorrow is! (The release on DVD of Eclipse, the 3rd movie in the Twilight saga for those of you non Twilighters)....So in celebration, Pixie Dust Studio has released yet another Twilight collection to feed your addiction...this is the Eclipse release.

I have for you today a tag I created with "Merry Jacob". I just couldn't resist this image! And I was in a tag sort of mood thanks to Tim Holtz and his Twelve Tags of Christmas! I used his Snowflake on the edge die and a lot of distress ink for this and would have done more grunge style, but I ran out of time. I started with Jacob as a card and totally changed it all at the last minute!

Jacob is one of 4 new Twilight images for your collection. You can get more peeks at the Pixie Dust Studio blog today :) (The whole new pack is shown below) Below is also a closeup so you can see the stickles on the snowflakes and on Jacob's hat.

Here's the whole Pixie Pack! Don't miss out :) And if you haven't started a Twilight digi collection, check out the others in the PDS store while you are there, and pick up the whole gang!!
