Dreamweaver Thursday

It's the last Thursday of the month and our last week of Christmas in August at Dreamweaver Stencils.  You still have one week to play along with our Christmas challenge for a chance to win!

For my card today I used Poinsettia stencil with the Metallic Leafing technique.  I used a glue pad and Variegated Red leafing.  I applied the glue pad through the stencil using a large dauber. After its heat set simply lay on the leafing and burnish.

I also added a border around the tan mat with Aged Gold embossing Enamel (from Stampendous) and the wine mat was dry embossed with Large Damask stencil.  Ribbon is by May Arts.

Be sure to hop over and visit the rest of the Dream Team's blogs and leave them some love and then go get stenciling!

No peeking...

I'm playing along with another The Cat's Pajamas month long challenge today.  This one was a technique challenge...to use Washi tape!   I pulled out my new little Peeking set and colored him with my Spectrum Noirs and did some paper piecing on the present and bow.

Here he is a bit closer in all his cuteness...

I'm loving the washi tape... I just ordered some from Bella Blvd that I couldn't resist including this cute dotty red which just happens to match the red dot pattern in the new Very Merry Christmas collection from Echo Park.

At the bottom of the card I added another long strip of the Washi tape and a green border die cut with TCP Inside Pinking CutUps die.  My sentiment is from the same Peeking set and green twill is by Creative Impressions.

Challenge List:
The Cat's Pajamas: washi tape
Pile It On: I Spy something with a "p" (present)
The Paper Shelter: anything goes
Emerald Fairies:punches and dies
Stamp n Doodle: loads of layers
A Gem of a challenge: animals or teddies

Today I have a card that I created with three of the newest CHA releases from Dreamweaver Stencils.  My main image is the new Mittens stencil that was done using the double glitter technique and then fussy cut.  I also added a strip of the new Christmas Borders stencil at the bottom.  This piece was also double-glittered.  The "joy" sentiment is from the new Season of Joy stencil.

All 3 of the stencils that I used are perfect for A2 cards but I used only small portions of each.  Here are pics of the full stencils:

Wish Upon a Cloud...

I had some fun playtime this weekend and thought I would play along with this week's Tuesday Challenge from The Cat's Pajamas!  This week was a color challenge:

For my card I used the cute little floppy-eared bunny from Wish (The Cat's Pajamas) which is stamped on Neenah White and colored with my Spectrum Noir markers. (CT4, CT3, LY3, CR5, CR3, PP3, BT1) The layout for the card is based on this week's sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

I added some Glossy accents to his little pink nose and just a hint of glitter to the edges of the moon with my Sakura Gelly Roll pen.  My papers are new from Echo Park: So Happy Together and Everyday Eclectic.

My clouds were cut with the Cloud Border CutUps die from TCP onto Whitewash Core'dinations cardstock in Watering Can After I cut out the clouds I gently sanded the edges with my Sand It Gadget to reveal more of the teal underneath.

My card base is also from the Whitewash collection from Core'diantions in Grandma's Rocker. I sanded those edges then added a touch of Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.  My teal pp (and teal dry-embossed cardstock piece) was also inked with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers distress ink.

Thanks for visiting with me today :)

I'm wobbling...

Good morning! Are you ready to wobble?  All this week you can find posts at the Stampendous and Action Wobbles design teams' blogs as we collaborate with some boingy fun!

My card for today features the new stamp set  Kiddo Snow Globe per request of my friend Betty. I started by stamping the globe in Versamark ink and embossing it with Detail Gold EP.  I added some of the small flakes from the set in a pale agua ink and then added some Crystal Snow glitter with a glue pen.

Then I stamped my cute little kiddo twice and colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I cut out both kiddos and adhered one directly to the snow globe and the other is mounted with my Action Wobble Spring.  Want to find these online? Check out The Scrapbooking Queen!

My card was finished with some Little Yellow Bicycle papers, Core'dinations cardstock, Bo Bunny ribbon, and a gold metallic pen from American Crafts.  (Red background pattern paper was stamped with Snowfall background and embossed in White EP)  Here's a side view of the kiddo wobbling...

Core Cards Creative Frenzy

Good morning! Are you a Core'dinations card stock fan? I am...in fact it has become my go-to cardstock in the last year or so! Today I have an eclectic variety of  projects highlighting some of the many different types of Core'dinations card stocks.

First I started with the Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection for Tim Holtz by Core'dinations.  I knew I wanted to use this cute new digi stamp from Some Odd Girl called Teacher's Pet Tia so I wanted some muted school colors and this was the perfect collection.  Tia was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers and cut out.

What I love most about this collection is the Kraft core.  In other words when you sand or tear the main color the Kraft will peek through!  I cut the notebook edge out with a die from the Edge IT Kit and sanded the edges with my Sand It Gadget tool from Core'dinations.

The ruler and Typeset embossing folders were run through my cuttlebug and then I sanded the embossed parts and edges of those pieces.  I also opted to ink the embossed parts of the ruler with my Memento pad for an even more distressed look.

As a final touch I added some die cut stars that were then scored from tips to middle and sanded.  My layout for this card is based on this month's sketch challenge from Some Odd Girl.

Supplies:
Stamps: Teacher's Pet Tia (Some Odd Girl)
Paper: Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection for Tim Holtz (Core'dinations)
Ink:Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink (Ranger)
Accessories: Stars dies (Spellbinders); Edge It kit (Lifestyle Crafts); Ruler & typeset embossing folders (Cuttlebug); Sand It Gadget (Core'dinations); Twine
Coloring Medium: Spectrum Noir Markers DG3, Dg2, CG3; FS9, FS8, FS4, FS2; EB8, EB5, TN5; GB10, GB6, GB4, CT4; BG1; TB9, TB8, TB4, TB3, TB2: DR7, DR6. DR4, CR7, CR2

Next I have a Shabby Chic type card, a bit out of my norm.  I wanted to play with the WhiteWash collection for this one.  I started with a piece of Garden Gate Whitewash cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug with Long Merry Christmas stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils.

I then sanded the embossed areas which showed some of the gorgeous green through the whitewash.  I wanted to keep the pale colors but still wanted a touch of a pop so I went over some of the embossed areas with some Spectrum Noir markers.  The edge was inked with Mowed Lawn distress ink.

I love the close up effect of the markers on the textured whitewash!

The background piece was dry embossed with my cuttlebug using Large Damask Stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils on Antique Vanity whitewash cardstock.  I sanded the embossed areas again then inked the edges.  This was layered on a second piece of the Antique Vanity but I used the back side (the rose).

Supplies:
Stencils: Large Damask & Long Merry Christmas (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Cardstock: Antique Vanity & Garden Gate Whitewash Core'dinations
Ink: Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn & Tattered Rose Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories: May Arts Ribbon; Sand It Gadget Tool (Core'dinations)
Coloring Medium: Spectrum Noir Markers

And finally I went for a Halloween card combining a bit of Ranger distressing & Dylusions and Stampendous! Fran'taging.

I started with the Kraft side of a Kraft Core cardstock piece of Core'dinations and stamped Pumpkin Kitty (from Stampendous)  in Versafine ink then colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I love how the coloring turned out so subtle on the kraft cardstock!  I added some Aged Gold Embossing Enamel from Stampendous to the buckles using a Versamarker.

This piece was cut out then adhered to a die cut piece.  This piece was also stamped on the Kraft side after I sprayed it with Squeezed Orange and Concord Grape Dylusions ink sprays.  I then cut it out with Labels 10 de from Spellbinders and sanded parts of the edges.

The final step to this panel was to add some Aged Black embossing Enamel.

The panel behind this panel I embossed the Poison folder on Hypnotic Black Magic Core'dinations cardstock using my Cuttlebug.  I then sanded the embossed areas and added a touch of ink to the edges.

The card was finished by stamping the Tile background onto the Purple Kraft Core card base.  The texture of the cardstock gives a great vintage feel to the image.

OK, thats it for this morning!  Hope you have a great weekend!
