Dreamweaver CAS Holiday

Its the last week of our CAS Holiday card challenge at Dreamweaver Stencils.  Won't you play along with us?  You don't have to use a Dreamweaver Stencil but we sure love when you do!

For my card today I used the Double Glitter technique on Season of Joy stencil.  Just a couple of layers and no bow...can you believe it?  These newest Christmas designs are perfect to fill up an A2 card without any fuss!

My UF glitters are a mix  from Stampendous and Art Glitter and used on DWS special Double Sided Mounting paper.

Stampendous and Core'dinations for the Holidays

Have you been by the Stampendous blog this week?  We have 2 things going on!  First is our collaboration with DIY Bangles and I'll be playing along with that later in the week.

But also this week Stampendous is playing in the Core'dinations Hard Core Crop Challenge!   And I have a card for you today featuring Stampendous and Core'dinations.  I started with a piece of blue Core'dinations cs from The Core Essentials line which was dry embossed using a folder and my cuttlebug.  I used my Sand It Gadget to sand over the embossed areas to bring out the lighter core color.

I then added some Fran'tage essentials to this panel using Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel and Shaved Ice.  My bird is a new stamp called Snow Bird.  I colored him with my speccies and cut him out then added more Shaved Ice to the branches and berries.

My sentiment, Scripty Blessings , is also a new stamp this year.  My card base is No21 from the Tim Holtz Nostalgic Collection by Core'dinations.

Skipping Stones Design Release and Blog Hop

***Post 2 of 2 for today, scroll down for The Cat's Pajamas Blog Hop and New Release***

Welcome to the November New Release and Blog Hop at Skiping Stones Design!  If you hopped over from Judith's blog then you are right on track; If you are just popping in cause you love me (and its my birthday!!!) please start at the beginning of the hop at Kelly's Blog!

Today we are releasing the gorgeous new set Victorian Christmas and we have a lovely sketch to work with from Kelly!  Please join us for our weekly sketch challenge using the sketch:

Sketch #156

For my tag I went with some funky bright colors to showcase the tree from the set.  All of the elements are gorgeous but I just LOVE the tree!  I started by blending a background on white cs with Picked Raspberries, Worn Lipstick, and Spiced Marmalade Distres sinks from Tim Holtz.  I then heat embossed my tree with detail white EP from Stampendous.

The background for the tag was stamped using the flourish in Worn Lipstick and the snowflake in Spiced Marmalade.  Here's a full view of the set if you haven't seen it yet:

From here its time to hop over to my friend Jennie's Blog!

And if you got lost along the way, here's the whole hop order!

The Cat's Pajamas Blog Hop and Release day!

Have you enjoyed all the peeks of the new release this week at The Cat's Pajamas?  I sure have!  I have been Thrilled to be able to work along with the uber-talented Cat Pack for the Winter Release!!  A huge meowy thanks to Alma for inviting me and to the pack for being so welcoming and inspiring :)  I'm sad its all over but I won't be far away with the weekly challenges!

SO, its finally Blog Hop day!  If you hopped over from Amy's blog then you are right where you should be!  If not then please start at the beginning of the hop at Lori's Blog so you don't miss a minute of the magic!

And before I move on to my card for today here's a few words from Alma:

The Cat's Pajamas is now 10 years old! Alma started making rubber stamps at her dining room table, hand cutting rubber and cushion and attaching them to wood blocks to sell to the local stamp stores where she was teaching.

So much has happened to stamping in 10 years. But our love of stamping is still going strong. So this release, we are excited to celebrate the way we started. With rubber stamps. Not just any rubber stamps. Cling Stamp sets for easy storage and positioning. Perfect for those who love rubber, but also love the convenience and ease of clear. Limited Edition because these stamps are extra special. Lovingly assembled at Alma's dining room table. Just like she did 10 years ago. So snap them up, because only a small number will be made. Her table is only so big.

For today we are also starting a new Tuesday challenge, and its a theme: Vintage Holiday.  It can be vintage, retro, mod, etc and I picked Mod to match Sprinkle.  Sprinkle is part of "The New Nice" set.  She is my fav of the release and I think a version of Sprinkle was the first TCP stamp I bought years ago!  I chose turquoise and green and gray again for my colors cause they just scream Mod to me and I even found this cute ribbon in my stash.

At the bottom of the card I've used 2 different parts of the new Toppers CutUps die.  These dies are beyond cool and here's what Alma has to say about them:

There are Five CutUps Dies in this release. Along with some "classics" that belong in every die collection, we are so excited to introduce our "Toppers" line. They are shapes that you can use the positive and negatives of to create borders and panels. They are open-ended so that you can create panels of any size using the toppers. You can place them individually or use them together. Endless possibilities!

OK, so enough chatter from me, are you ready to move on?  From here head over to Jen's Blog  for even more inspiration!

TCP Sneak Peeks Day 6

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go...

Well its looking like Christmas at my house after last night AND its looking like a vey meowy Christmas over at The Cat's Pajamas!  Today is day 6 of the Sneaky Peeks and HERE is the thread on the SCS forum so you can see all the awesomeness for today AND leave a comment to win!!

Today the Cat Pack (and swanky stampers...me included!) are introducing "Treemendous" starring our favorite little bear.   He's having a bit of an issue getting his tree set up, can you relate?

EB4, TN5, TN3, TN2, TN1
JG1, LG4, CG3, CG1
BT1, TB1, GB4, GB2

And I added a couple of the newest dies...have I told you how much I totally love these??  At the top I layered the sentiment on one of the stars from the Star CutUps die and across the bottom I used one of the Holiday Toppers CutUps dies.  These new toppers come with a whole assortment that snap apart AND they are open ended so that you can make the cut as long as you want!  Too cool...

OK, so here's the newest swankiness from The Cat's Pajamas that I used today:

Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peeks Day 3

**Post 2 of 2 today, scroll down for this week's Dreamweaver Stencils challenge post***

Are you ready for another peek of the Swankiest stamps around?  Alma at the Cat's Pajamas knows swanky and I have been a loving fan for many years now.  This release has been all about a throwback to her original days and I am loving it!!

Today's peek is of my favorite little bunny staring in his Trip to the Mistletoe.  This adorable little set is called "Soar" and it will be available on Tuesday Nov 27th!

I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers to match this uber-fun paper from Crate Paper that I've been hoarding for forever!  The layout for the card is based on  Julee's Mojo Monday sketch this week.

I also couldn't resist adding in two more of the new Cut Ups dies coming your way on Tuesday as well.  Across the top panel I added the star border from the Holiday Topper Cut Ups die.  And then I added some new Star Cut Ups die cut outs as accents to match :)

Here's the products that I used for today's card:

Don't forget to check out the "In it to win it" thread in the Cat's Pajamas forum on SCS for a chance to win some new Wintery swankiness!

Dreamweaver Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving!  Are you spending your holiday at home or traveling?  We're traveling today for the first time in years...but hey...no cooking!

Today is another installment of our CAS Holiday challenge from Dreamweaver Stencils and I went about as CAS as I ever get with just 2 layers and no embellishments!  The focus is all on the stencil and the Gold Leafing technique.

I used the new stencil Peace on Earth and embossed that with gold paste then let that dry thoroughly.  After I cleaned my stencil I reapplied it and then sponged on Stewart Superior Glue pad with a large dauber.  I removed the stencil then laid down a sheet of Blue Variegated Metal Leaf.  Starting by adding light pressure all over with my large stencil brush I then burnished the whole area which removes the leafing from the un-embossed parts and volia!  Gorgeousness!

I do hope you'll play along with our CAS Holiday challenge this month...you still have 2 whole weeks to play and be eligible for a prize!  Also be sure to head over to the rest of the Dream Teams' blogs and leave them some love today!

The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peeks Day 1

Happy Tuesday!  I am so over the moon this week because its Sneak Peek week at The Cat's Pajamas and I get to play along with the Cat Pack!  Meow!  We'll be peeking a new stamp set each day through Monday and ending with a Blog Hop on Tuesday November 27th...my birthday!  What a great present for me... he he he

Before I show you my peek today, here's a word from Alma...

The Cat's Pajamas is now 10 years old! Alma started making rubber stamps at her dining room table, hand cutting rubber and cushion and attaching them to wood blocks to sell to the local stamp stores where she was teaching.

Her table is only so big.

OK, so are you ready to see the newest penguin on the block??  This little cutie is from the new set "Snow Love".  Is he not the cutest little thing ever??  I used this month's TCP sketch (see the sketch HERE to play along) for my layout and some new Bo Bunny papers.

I also used two of the new Cut Ups dies from this release!  The circle element is actually a new Star Rosette that I left flat and tucked under the olive panel.  And the snowflake border is art of the new Holiday Toppers die...just wait til you see this!  Here's what Alma shared about the awesome new dies:

There are Five CutUps Dies in this release. Along with some "classics" that belong in every die collection, we are so excited to introduce our "Toppers" line. Dreamweaver Thursday

For the whole month of November we are having are CAS Holiday cards challenge at Dreamweaver Stencils so you still have 2 weeks to play along with us!

This week I am sharing a card I made a while back with one of the newest stencils, Star Dream Christmas Tree.  I used the Molten Magic technique on this one starting with Pearlescent Embossing paste then flicking on Kimono Red and Ivy Green Metallic FX powders while the paste was still wet.  Then I heated with my heat tool to dry the paste and make it all bubbly and textured!  Easy Peasy!

I hope you'll join us this month for a chance to win!  And be sure to hop over to the rest of the teams' blogs and see what they have cerated for you!

Dylusions Art Journal Challenge

Sorry I've been a bit MIA lately, been trying to spend more quality family time AND I've been working on lots of super secret new Stampendous samples for January CHA!

Dyan Reaveley has a new challenge up on her Society of Art Journaling FB page...to watch her newest videos and use the new Christmas stamps.  So this is what I came up with a week or so ago...

I've used London Blue, Crushed Grape, and Cut Grass Dylusions sprays on the background then I used the large Snowflake stencil and ghosted the page with water spray.

My little chickie was stamped separately and colored with Dylusions ink in my Ranger water brushes.

I used some mini tage at the top of the page (also sprayed) and traced through a stencil for the letters.  Added a border at the top and bottom.

And the borders down the sides of the page.  Couldn't resist added some Purple stickles for the berries!

Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for popping in today!!

Distressed Trees

We've now had four weeks of festively distressed fun playing with the Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Powders along with our wonderful line of Dreamweaver Stencils and products. Huge thanks to Tim Holtz and the fab people at Ranger for sharing these four collaborative weeks with us, and providing the yummy shades of Distress Powders for us to create with. We've been inspired by the process, and we hope you have, too!

If you haven't won one of the prize packages yet, you still have one more opportunity this week as the set below is up for grabs to a random commenter on one of the Dream Team blogs

If you've been following along each week, you've seen some gorgeous creations with these stencils and powders, so you should be all fired up to get distressed! If you've missed the first three weeks, check them out once you've made the rounds today:

My festively distressed project for this week is this:

I used the Molten Magic technique with the Distress powders on the trees and the sentiment.  I began with Red Label Embossing paste on the Line of Xmas Trees.  After I removed the stencil I poured Peeled Paint Distress powder over the wet paste and then heated that.  It gives a lovely bubbly yet distressed look!

The sentiment was done in the same manner with Merry Christmas stencil and Barn Door Distress Embossing powder.

Don't forget to leave me some love before hopping to the rest of the Dream Team blogs:

Please remember to continue to follow the team through the Dream It Up! blog as we bravely go where no stenciler has gone before, to like us on our Facebook page, and to learn from our fabulous weekly Thursday Tutorials on Paper Craft Planet as well.

Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge

Good morning!  Just a quick post today as I've been OOT for a couple of days with the hubby.  We went down to Hilton Head SC so he could golf with some friends and I started my Christmas shopping!

So for today we are up to sketch challenge #153 at Skipping Stones Design and in my hurry to get packed to leave I used the wrong sketch!!!   Aaaackkk!!  But its kinda close LOL

For my card I had decided to keep it CAS.  I started by spraying my white cs with some Dylusions ink sprays then after that was dry I stamped the large floral silhouette from Beautiful Botanicals in Archival black ink.

Anyway, here's the correct sketch if you want to play!  You could win free stamps!!

Spectrum Noir Flowers Challenge

Good morning!  Today I'm playing along with this months challenge at the Spectrum Noir blog: Flowers!  You can use flowers in any way but just be sure to color your image with your speccies!

I inked up my little nymph from the Buddle Toreads set from Crafter's Companion and colored her to match my Basic Grey Konnichiwa papers.   She has little berries in her basket, but with all the leaves she's wearing I started thinking abut flowers for the challenge!   (The sentiment is from another adorable Toreads set, Sky.  My flower embellishment is also from the same Basic Grey collection.  Here's a closer shot at Buddle:

She's been colored with the following Spectrum Noir markers:

C11, C7, C4, PP3
FS9, FS1  TN5, TN3

Distressed Christmas

Still feeling festive? We hope so! Dreamweaver and Ranger still have two weeks left of our Festively Distressed collaboration, and we are full of distressing ideas...Tim Holtz' Distress Powder ideas, that is. Mixed with our fabulous line of stencil designs and exciting products, your creativity will know no bounds! If you missed the first two weeks, start HERE and HERE!

For our postings this week and next, we are offering you the opportunity to win one of two prize packages, perfectly coordinated for your holiday crafting. Simply leave a comment on each of our Dream Team's posts, and YOU could be one of two randomly selected winners!

The Dream Team have been challenged for the month of November to create something CAS (clean and simple) for the holidays. The extra challenge is mixing the Distress Powders in for the collaboration with Ranger. Think that it's possible? Well...let's see...

Here's what I came up with

I began by creating my focal image using the Double Glitter technique using Tim Holtz's Distress Embossing powders and the Long Stocking stencil.  After the powders are all added to the Double sticky paper you simply heat the image using your Heat Tool as you woud with regular embossing.  I used Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Antique Linen, and Broken China powders.

The sentiment was created by using the Long Merry Christmas stencil and masking off the parts that I didn't want.  I sponged through the stencil using Fired Brick Distress ink and a Ranger foam applicator.

The green Core'dinations mat was die cut with Tim Holtz's Baroque die from Sizzix and I edged my papers with Tim's distress inks in Peeled Paint and Antique Linen.

So tell me what you think in your comment below before heading over to the rest of the Dream Team posts:

The Ranger blog is offering another amazing prize opportunity, just for playing along with the Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Powders and Dreamweaver Stencils and linking your creation on the Ranger blog. You can find more details HERE.

We hope that you have been inspired by our creations, and will continue to follow the Dream Team through the Dream It Up! blog as well as to like us on our Facebook page. We really encourage you to play along with our monthly challenges for more prize opportunities and creative fun!
